In this formula, the number argument is the number that you want to be rounded off to the next even number. This argument can be supplied in the formula either as a value that is returned from other formulas or functions, a cell reference that contains the value to be rounded off or as the actual numeric value.

**Examples on the Usage of the EVEN Function in Microsoft Excel**

**Here are some examples that can help you learn on how to use the EVEN function in Excel:**

- The numerical value of 23 is contained in cell A1. Enter this formula in any cell where you want the result to appear, =EVEN(23). The function will return the result which is 24.
- A value of 2.22 is contained in cell A2. You can use this formula to round the value to the next even number away from zero, =EVEN(2.22). The function will return the result which is 4.
- Try to type in this formula, =EVEN(A2+4). Take note that the numerical value in cell A2 is added to 4, 2.22+4= 6.22. The function will return the result which is 8.
- The numerical value of 0 is contained in cell A4. Enter this formula in any cell, =EVEN(A4). The function will return the result which is 0.
- Here’s another one, a numerical value of -0.3 is contained in cell A5. Then type in this formula, =EVEN(A5). The function will return the result which is -2.
- You don’t have to stop to that; you can still try this example. A numerical value of -11 is contained in cell A6. Enter this formula in any cell, =EVEN(A6). The function will return the result which is -12.
- Now, this is the last, try this one. Type in a numerical value of -4 in cell A7 and then use this formula, =EVEN(A7). The function will return the result which is -4.
